What is this program about?

Instacare represesnts a new approach to emergency department patient flow that markedly decreases
patient waiting times and decreases turnaround times. It allows patients to be consistently seen by a
provider within minutes of arrival and optimizes all ED related processes while active.

Does it require significant construction?

No. Most of what is needed is already in place in the typical ED and modifications, if any, tend to be cosmetic
and functional rather than structural. In fact, the majority of what Instacare entails is based on redefinition
of duties, patient flow process redesign and optimization of available ED space.

Does it increase patient volumes?

Yes. Instacare not only allows an emergency department to handle current volumes with unprecedented
efficiency but also increases the amount of patients serviced through the marketing of prompt quality service.

Does it increase patient satisfaction?

Yes. Instacare provides prompt patient evaluation and creates an environment conducive to customer oriented
care. This translates into marked improvement in patient satisfaction scores.

Does it increase staff satisfaction?

Instacare prevents overcrowding and creates an orderly controlled work environment even with increases
in patient volumes. This promotes staff satisfaction and decreases attrition.

Does it decrease liabilities?

Yes. Instacare eliminates patients leaving without being seen and the inherent medico-legal risks they pose.
By the same token, patients no longer wait hours in the waiting room prior to a clinical evaluation and this decreases the risk of missing an opportunity to address a significant injury or illnes in a timely fashion.

Does it decrease diversion hours?

Yes. By promoting more efficient use of ED beds, more are actually made available for EMS patients. This helps prevent the need for ambulance diversion and allows immediate bedding of almost all ambulances.
